September is FREE Tennis Month in Southern Nevada

USTA Nevada offers free tennis to all ages in September.The United States Tennis Association in Nevada is proud to have Mayor Carolyn Goodman as our official spokesperson to kickoff ?Tennis Month? in Nevada. The USTA and a number of sponsors and community partners are providing free tennis for all ages. This free tennis program is made possible thanks to our presenting sponsors CBS Television Network, Lotus Broadcasting, The World Journal (Chinese Daily News), Hilton Lake Las Vegas, snd Whole Foods Market. In partnership with The City of Las Vegas, The City of Henderson, Clark County, The City of North Las Vegas, Babolat, Tivoli Village, and Wilson, the free classes will be provided by some of the nicest country clubs and public parks in town. The free tennis campaign gives everyone a chance to start playing tennis, the sport of a lifetime.Get your FREE tennis lesson by completing this Registration Form or call the United States Tennis Association in Nevada at (702) 792-8384. When you register, you will be emailed a certificate for a free tennis clinic and a free loaner racquet at the facility closest to you. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! In addition, everyone who registers online or by calling the USTA Nevada office to redeem their free tennis class will also receive a free Nevada Tennis Association membership, which includes an e-newsletter and invitations to many of our community events.

Ten and under players will receive a free one-year USTA junior membership, a value of $19. This membership enables juniors to participate in USTA sanctioned leagues and tournaments, and provides preferred ticket access to pro tennis tournaments throughout the country, discounts on merchandise and apparel, and includes a subscription to “Bounce,” a special quarterly publication geared toward young players and their parents.

This special program has been made possible through a diversity and marketing grant from the USTA’s Intermountain Section and in partnership with the following tennis and country clubs (in alphabetical order):

The Las Vegas Racquet Recycle Program, a non-profit, volunteer program, will also be kicking off their new collection campaign in September in conjunction with the USTA Nevada’s Free Tennis Campaign. Collection bins will be located at participating tennis clubs. Players will be encouraged to donate their unused tennis rackets and balls. Program volunteers will collect the equipment, assess it for optimal future use, and refurbish (if necessary with new strings and overgrips) and distribute to any new player in need.

Free Tennis Lessons for Youth in Las Vegas

This is a great way to get to know the Southern Nevada Youth Tennis Foundation and peak your child’s interest in tennis.  Take advantage of living in a near perfect tennis climate!

All youth ages 6 to 14 are invited to free tennis lessons on Saturday, May 21, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.on the tennis courts at the Rafael Rivera Community Center located at 2900 E. Stewart Ave.

The event is being presented by the Southern Nevada Youth Tennis Foundation, Inc.and the Marty Hennessey Jr. Tennis Foundation. The foundation will be providing the rackets, balls, ball machine, target, Quick Start (10 and under tennis), drinks, snacks, and much more.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Southern Nevada Youth Tennis Foundation provides free tennis by engaging all youth of all backgrounds in a fun, safe environment.

SNYTF is a non profit 501(c)(3) that has provide Free tennis to the youth of all backgrounds in our valley.  SNYTF provides all tennis equipment, mentors, professional instructions/manuals, T5 training (Teaching Teachers to Teach Tennis), banners, balls, hoppers, rackets to the following partnerships:

•     Clark County School District-Community School Partnership Offices       (effected over 18 middle schools)

•     City of Las Vegas, Department of Leisure Services (over 7,000 kids affected yearly at 14 community centers)

•     Greater LV After School All Stars- (providing all tennis programs for over 13 years)

•     Rafael Rivera Community Center- SNYTF host site for

-Jr. Rock ‘N Rally

-Jr. Academy-Middle/High School

-Quick Start Program- under 10 yr olds

-T5 Training
